These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of websites, pages, and services operated by CiViDAR Media and its affiliates (“CiViDAR Media”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using our sites you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our sites.

1. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use our sites.
  • If you create an account you must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

2. Content and information on our sites

  • Our sites provide general information and curated resources. They are not legal, tax, investment or professional advice. You should obtain professional advice where appropriate.
  • We may change or discontinue content or features at any time without notice.
  • We use affiliate links and may earn commissions from qualifying purchases. This does not affect the price you pay.

3. Your submissions and user content

Authors and users may submit proposals, manuscripts, comments and other content (“Submissions”). You are responsible for your Submissions and must ensure they are lawful, accurate and do not infringe the rights of others.

  • Unless we have a written agreement stating otherwise, Submissions are not confidential and may be reviewed by our personnel and service providers.
  • You grant CiViDAR Media a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, review, and internally use your Submissions for evaluation, editorial and operational purposes.
  • You must not include special category or sensitive personal data in Submissions unless strictly necessary and requested by us.
  • We do not undertake to return or preserve Submissions and we have no obligation to provide feedback or to publish any Submission.

4. Prohibited conduct

  • Do not use the sites in any unlawful way or to infringe the rights of others.
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access, interfere with security, or disrupt the operation of the sites.
  • Do not upload malware, spam, or content that is defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.

5. Intellectual property

  • All content on the sites is owned by or licensed to CiViDAR Media and is protected by intellectual property laws.
  • You may access the sites for personal use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works except as permitted by law or with our prior written consent.

6. Third-party services and links

  • Our sites may include links to third-party websites, products or services. We are not responsible for their content or policies.
  • Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms and privacy notices.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data. By using our sites you acknowledge our privacy practices.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the sites and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not make any warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CiViDAR Media and its directors, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the sites. Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the sites shall not exceed the greater of £100 or the amounts you paid to us, if any, for paid services in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the liability.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CiViDAR Media and our officers, directors, employees and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms or from your Submissions.

11. Changes, suspension and termination

  • We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the sites and will apply from the date noted below.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access to the sites at any time if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the sites.

12. Compliance with law

You are responsible for complying with all laws and regulations that apply to your use of the sites. Mandatory consumer rights in your jurisdiction are not excluded to the extent they cannot be excluded by law.

13. Dispute resolution

Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the sites, including their existence, validity or termination, shall be finally settled by binding arbitration. The arbitral award shall be final and enforceable under the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards of 1958 (the “New York Convention”). The language of the arbitration shall be English. Class or collective proceedings are not permitted. This clause is intended to allow recognition and enforcement of the award in any jurisdiction that is party to the New York Convention.

14. Miscellaneous

  • These Terms form the entire agreement between you and CiViDAR Media regarding the sites.
  • If any provision is found invalid the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
  • We may assign these Terms. You may not assign them without our consent.
  • No failure to enforce a provision shall be deemed a waiver.
